Goodbye, pedagogic schools?

The Ministry of Education resolved to liquidate pedagogic classes, and teachers and kindergarten teachers would not be given titular degrees unless they have superior education. After a similar attempt in 2002, the Ministry of Education announces again the futility of pedagogic classes. For the 2006/2007 school year, the MEd did not approve the schooling figures for the 9th grade for this specialization. According to the new directives from the ministry, only “Faculties of Psychology and Education Science ?re the ones holding the human and materials resources for providing quality training for future teachers over the elementary and pre-school levels”. Therefore, in three years, teachers and kindergarten teachers will not be able to obtain titular degrees unless having superior studies. (I.O.)
