The cultural capital, at the dor of the tent

The local administration of Sibiu started a public purchase procedure for a large tent. In other words, a multifunctional construction, on a light structure, which is to be placed on the platform from the former Casern 90, in view of preparing the Sibiu European Cultural Capital Program 2007.

“Itțs a construction of light structure, pavilion type, with a futurist aspect, yet, it will perfectly be integrated in the urban ambiance of the area. We intend to organize a large series of events in 2007, starting from exhibitions to concerts and theater presentations”, mayor of Sibiu declared.

At present, the investments department within the Sibiu City Hall closed the public purchase procedure for the feasibility study for this multifunctional pavilion. After the analysis of the tenders, the contract was assigned to SC Arhigraf SRL Sibiu, for the amount of 14.000 RON. The feasibility study will be prepared by the winner company in approximately 30 days upon signing the contract.

The multifunctional pavilion will be used for events related to this cultural year of 2007, having a capacity of approximately 3.000 seats, organized in steps (system of superposed chairs made up o modules) with lateral balusters on three sides and access stairs on another.

The tent for 2007 will have a maximum height of 15 meters (in the elevation points of the two central towers), width of the external circumference of four meters, dimensions on the ground are of 45 by 70 meters. Within the tent, there will be a scene of approximately 10 by 12 meters. Likewise, there will be light and sound systems setup within the tent, in order to provide all the facilities for the events to take place in this location in 2007.
