Test for policemen

An action of the Hunedoara County Police Inspectorate took place last week in schools in three towns in the county. Policemen from IPJ Hunedoara tested the response time of their colleagues in the field, by dialing emergency number 112.

The first policemen to be tested were the ones from the town of Simeria. Here, in the “Anghel Saligny” High-school, at 14.30 it was announced that there a fight among pupils in the dormitory of the school. For five minutes, the dispatcher received information about the location where the incident took place. Cops arrived at the venue in four minutes and a half. At the Calan Elementary School, a similar incident was announced; here the police officers arrived at the venue in two minutes. The slowest response time was that of the policemen from Deva. The “Ion Mincu” Art and Trade School Group reported that four people entered the school, causing trouble to the pupils and the management of the institution cannot keep the situation under control. The policemen from Deva arrived at the venue in six minutes.

At the end of the action, the policemen from Hunedoara declared they were satisfied with the way their colleagues operated. However, the representatives of IPJ Hunedoara consider there is not enough workforce for ensuring an even prompter intervention, issue he hopes would be solved by next year.
