Geoagiu-Bai Resort remedied

It seems that the problems the Geoagiu-Bai Resort faces are about to be remedied. Geoagiu Bai is one of the 24 balneary stations in the country with a very high potential which throughout the years drew a very large number of tourists. In order to attract more tourists, the local authorities intend to remedy the problem of the infrastructure, one of the main issues the station faces. In this sense, the local authorities submitted a request for funding for the amount of 4,5 million Euros at the Ministry of European Integration. Another issue the Geoagiu Bai Resort has is the purging station. “The biggest problem of the resort is the purging station, which is in an advanced state of damage. In order to replace it, 20 billion lei are needed. Besides this station, we wish to build a modern channel system for house water and pluvial water. The parking lots will be increased threefold, thus the cars should not be parked on the main road”, Simion Maris, the mayor of Geoagiu town declared. Another urgent issue the resort faced was the supply with drinking water. This problem was recently remedied through the installation of a pressure pump with a very high capacity. Additionally, the former sports base of the resort was conceded to a foreign investor who already has started the modernization works. “There are four treatment bases in Geoagiu Bai at present which hold 1500 places for room in the hotels and other 1000 places for room offered by private persons, in the summer season 10.000 tourists a day were recorded”, Simion Maris added. If the problem of the infrastructure is remedied, for sure the number of tourists will grow in the following years and those who visit the resort will have multiple possibilities for recreation.
