Internet access for peasants

Adults in the surroundings of Sibiu will be taught about computers and the internet, within a project which targets the elimination of the differences between the technical knowledge of the Sibiu peasants and the EU citizens as much as possible.

This program is part of the “Grundtvig – Socrates” European cooperation project, which has the Sibiu Faculty of Science involved. The representatives of the Faculty, paid by European money, will first set up sort of internet cafes for the peasants in the surroundings. Adults in these areas will not be let alone, but will have trainers, who will disclose them the mysteries of the Internet and surfing on the www. Trainers will be chosen from these areas as well. Knowledge the peasants will obtain in these trainings will be used, as a first application, for the development of tourism in the region. The evolution of the program specified will be verified once every two months, by means of videoconferences, where the net shepherds will take part as well.

In the surroundings of Sibiu, the Jina village is the only place having an internet café.
