The bird-flu under control
The bird-flu virus in Romania was isolated and at this time, it is under complete control. “We are the country which gave anti-flu vaccination to the entire population in the risk areas”, the minister of health, Eugen Nicolaescu declared, within a video-conference with the prefects. He asked them to inform the population with regard to the prophylaxis measures they have to take. Likewise, he made an appeal to the population not yet vaccinated in the neighboring areas of the infection centers in Tulcea county to have patience, since there is no suspicion regarding the occurrence of the bird-flu in humans. The ministry of health is in the process of purchasing 1.5 million doses of anti-flu vaccine, and the auction will take place on November the 10th. (R.D.)
