Dobre blazes the TRAIL in Gurghiului Valley
The economic revitalization of the Gurghiului Valley (Valea Gurghiului) area, project launched last year under the name of POTECA (“The Trail”), entered the second development stage, marked by obtaining the legal personality by the Association of Communities in Gurghiului Valley. Representatives of the Mures Prefecture met on Saturday, in the Gurghiu School of Forestry, with the local authorities from four townships involved in the project – Hodac, Ibanesti, Gurghiu and Solovastru -, with the participation?of mayors, vice-mayors and local councilors, meeting where specific, but also common issues of the four local administrations were discussed, in order to obtain a regional development project.
According to Ciprian Dobre, the promoter of this project, the success of the action requires the rehabilitation of the road infrastructure of the area, but also the extension of the water and canalization networks. As a matter of fact, Dobre asked the four mayors to fill in a table with the priorities and issues of each township, by Thursday, when the next meeting takes place, this time in Hodac, remaining that, on the basis of these tables, the Managing Committee of the Association elaborates a developmen? plan.
Besides the water and canalization network extension projects, which are still missing at present, among the measures the Association targets, are the restoration and rehabilitation of the waterbed of the Gurghiu River, the elaboration of a pre-feasibility project for the installation of gas, as well as the identification of touring locations. Among these, according to Dobre, an important potential of attraction in the area is the natural reservation of a rare variety of snow-drop – one of the three existi?g in the entire world – , the level of ozone concentration and Poiana Narciselor (Narcissi Clearing). Likewise, the intentions of the Associations target the efficient exploitation of the Lapusna station, where the arrangement of a ski run is considered.
According to Ciprian Dobre, the academic environment is going to be involved in the Gurghiului Valley development project as well; proposals of association will be launched by the Petru Maior and the Babes-Bolyai Universities. By means of these partnership relations, a web-site will be built, but other projects will be run too. Likewise, similarly to the Valea Muresului Festival, the organization of a Valea Gurghiului Festival will be attempted at in the second part of June, which has the support of the ma?ors in the area, Ciprian Dobre declared.
