1.000 billion lei in boring
The need to exploit at a higher performance, respectively to discover new gas fields, following the Russian gas crisis, showing us the vulnerability of the energy system, but also the dependence on the Russian natural resources, determined the representatives of ROMGAZ to intensify their investment program in the boring field, accompanied by doubling the storage capacity from 3 to 6 billion cbm gas.
This year, SNGN ROMGAZ SA Medias projected the execution of approximately 45 new wells, which is equivalent of boring 80.000 m in the entire country, according to the statement made by Lucian Stancu, deputy general director of the gas producer.
The ROMGAZ office in Targu Mures runs an investment program reaching 200-300 billion lei, which means the execution of 12 new wells to be accomplished in four counties in Transylvania, namely Alba, Bistrita, Cluj and Mures, in villages – Acatari, Eremieni, Santejude, Cosbuc, Vaida, Urisiu, Ciumbrud, Breaza, Porumbeni, Icland, Corunca Nord, Poienita – Ivanesti.
The battle for wells
Upon the finalization of projecting (finished in some cases, since the program was launched last year), a very extensive stage, and the finalization of projecting works, the next stage is the compilation of the task file and the announcement of the open auction in the Official Gazette of Romania in order to contract the constructor.
The big battle in Transylvania (which doesn’t mean other companies are excluded) will take place between the two giants of the field, Foraj Sonde Targu Mures, run by Vasile Aron, respectively DAFORA SA Medias, controlled by Gheorghe Calburean.
Unfortunately, neither of the potential effecters could be contacted, Vasile Aron had his phone turned off, and Gheorghe Calburean was chairing a meeting.
We will reiterate with further details, as soon as the auctions will be announced by ROMGAZ SA Medias.
“This year approximately 80.000 m will be bored, which means approximately 45 new wells. I can’t specify the exact value of the investment. Some of them are already in the stage of obtaining authorizations, while others are still under projecting, followed by auctions, then by the start of the works”, Lucian Stancu, deputy general director of SNGN ROMGAZ SA Medias.
